When training a new puppy it can be extremely difficult. It is imperative that a dog owner understands how puppy’s brains function. One of important things that you can possibly do for a puppy is to give them rewards for behaving well. Unfortunately, this step is usually neglected during puppy training. This is because many dogs can’t comprehend how vital it is. On the other hand, puppy rewards such as dog treats are necessary during puppy training due to the way that a puppy’s mind functions and the way pets actually view the world.

A puppy views the world as a sequence of events. Dogs normally do not care if these events do not go their way. Nevertheless, what they are not too concerned about are the ones that do go their way and of course, the ones that make them the most content and happy. Remember, dogs live for the moment. This means that dogs aren't able to see what they may have done a couple of hours ago as negative.

This is the exact reason why punishing a dog for an event that they committed while you were away from the house will not make a difference. In other words, he will not be able to comprehend that you are reprimanding him for an event because he will not know what to relate it to. So, it is very important that what you show your dog, in the moment, the right thing to do.

A Puppy in the “Moment”

Because puppies live from moment to moment and because of the way pets remember the events that are considered to be positive, a puppy is going to respond to the positive rewards that a dog owner gives their dog. This is one reason why it is very easy to train a puppy to do a new trick. So, if you give your dog a treat for something that he did correctly when given a command; a dog will remember to do whatever command that you give them because they will remember the treat that came along with it.

On the other hand, reprimanding your dog for doing something wrong will not make him/her cease from that particular behavior ---this is because they will not associate a bad outcome with an event …unless a dog owner can manage to catch them red handed and speak to them firmly. So, if you do not catch a dog read handed, punishing your dog is only going to cause them to be fearful of you and create anxiety.

Consequently, one of the best ways that you can convince your pet to anything from doing tricks to putting on cool dog clothes is to make certain that you are giving your dog treats for good behavior.
